Request for edit/deletion in light of organisational name change.

[edit]

Hello all, I wanted to request if the page could be either removed or edited.

I work with the organisation and our name and scope of work has changed drastically since the page was first created. We are no longer called the Migration and Asylum Project, and I fear that the information here could mislead people on the actual work that we do. Could someone please guide me on how to request for deletion of the page?

thank you. Jellyfish2013 (talk) 09:01, 7 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Jellyfish2013: firstly, you must make a formal disclosure of your paid editing status, as instructed in the notice on your talk page.
Secondly, when making edit requests, you must use the {{edit COI}} template, so that your request shows up on the list of requests which is patrolled by editors willing to consider such requests. It is, however, easier to just use the wizard at WP:ERW. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:10, 7 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I have made the formal disclosure on my user page, and have used WP:ERW as suggested. Thank you so much, and I apologise for taking up so much of your time. I appreciate your guidance. Jellyfish2013 (talk) 09:51, 7 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

  • What I think should be changed (include citations):

The organisation is a legal aid centre, when initially founded in 2013, worked with a specific population of UNHCR-mandate forcibly displaced persons in India. Since then, our scope has expanded greatly to also include internal inter-state migrants in India, and women affected by sexual and gender-based violence.

We have also greatly expanded our collaborations with legal services institutions.

In light of this, in July 2026, the organisation has changed its name to Margins to Access Project, and has reduced the work it does with forcibly displaced persons substantially.

This is the organisation's new web page: https://maplawcentre.org/

This is the older web page that seeks to re-route users to the newer page: www.migrationandasylumproject.org

  • Why it should be changed:

Given these changes, and also since we would like to protect the sensitive nature of some of our work with forcibly displaced persons, without overtly advertising our work with them in the current political scenario, I would request if you could kindly consider removing the page entirely (preferable) or allowing a substantial editing of the content.
