I was surprised when I first read this article having just read a 1965 paperback edition of the book - entitled So Dear to My Heart - which differed from the book as described in this article. I've since learned that North revised his original story to parallel the Disney filmation. I've noted some changes I've been able to substantiate without having access to a copy of the book as originally published. I've noticed the article's list of characters omits Tildy: was she invented by Disney so that the stars of Song of the South could reunite for a second film? Perhaps someone who has a copy of the original Midnight and Jeremiah or recalls reading it could comment.--Cherrylimerickey (talk) 02:44, 8 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
