Couldn't find a source that a Caine Prize (Commonwealth Writers Prize for Africa Section) was awarded for The Boy Gift. H M Books. 2006. ISBN 978-1-84728-471-6. (the Boy Gift. CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform. 2013-08-02. ISBN 978-1491228357.) It won the Wahome Mutahi Prize for Literature per Daily Motion dated 13/12/2013, as "...Meja Mwangi, the reclusive writer with a mighty pen...".
