Age?
[edit]The body of the article claims that Mei long lived in the early Aptian 125 Ma but https://stratigraphy.org/ICSchart/ChronostratChart2023-09.pdf puts 125 Ma in the Barremian. This same mistake happens in the Zhenyuanlong article as well so that might be something to look into. 2A00:23C5:6A17:801:494:6304:ADEA:5AAB (talk) 17:08, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
Meaning of name
[edit]Currently says: "Mei long ..., means sleeping dragon". That may have been the intention of the species authors, but it is not correct; word order in scientific names (group first, descriptor second) is the reverse of English (descriptor first, group second). The genus (the group it is in) is Mei (sleepers; things that sleep), the species is long ([resembling a] dragon). Mei long actually means "sleeping that resembles a dragon", or more simply, "dragon sleeper". But not "sleeping dragon". - MPF (talk) 13:45, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
