Possible Date of Death

[edit]

May have died back in 2019: EaglesFan37 (talk) 08:08, 23 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Jkaharper Do you think this is the name Maury Nipp? EaglesFan37 (talk) 13:39, 23 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yep, that's him! Pro Football Reference erroneously gives his DOB as March 21. Pro Football Archives gives March 31, and the latter is correct as per the birth records on Ancestry. I've added and sourced the death date. Great work, thanks! --Jkaharper (talk) 14:17, 23 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Jkaharper Of course! I'm currently updating my personal list of the oldest living NFL players, so I'm currently finding a couple cases.
There are three more players that are almost certainly deceased, but I can't verify: Brad Rowland, Ed Listopad, and Lou Tepe. EaglesFan37 (talk) 14:21, 23 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Brad Rowland died in 2017 as per Pro Football Archives, and his death record is also on Ancestry. I've updated his page accordingly. Nothing for Tepe and Listopad, but Tepe appears to have been alive around 2020 as per the residency records. Both could realistically still be alive. --Jkaharper (talk) 14:54, 24 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Jkaharper For Lou Tepe, a Reddit user who knew him reported that Tepe died on June 19, 2025. That obviously isn't WP:RS or acceptable for Wikipedia, but there isn't any reason to doubt the information. .
The comments on this Facebook post from Listopad's relatives strongly indicate that he is now deceased . Also clearly not WP:RS or usable for Wikipedia, but also no reason to doubt the veracity.
Hoping to find some more definition confirmation about either of them. EaglesFan37 (talk) 15:02, 24 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
