Mere?

[edit]

Randomly selected nugget:

Since 2006, MCM has expanded its retail presence in the world’s most exclusive shopping cities, including London, Paris, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Seoul and Dubai.

What does "expanded its retail presence" mean? Increased its advertising? Increased its sales? Increased the number of its retailers?

I've been to six of those seven cities. Indeed, I'm in one of them right now. How is any of them an "exclusive shopping city"? If you stump up the cash, they'll sell you the frock. If you stump up a much larger figure, you can rent or even buy retail space. Nobody's excluded (though I can't speak for Dubai).

It seems to me that this article is mere bullshit (in the philosophical sense of the word). -- Hoary (talk) 23:54, 23 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. I've taken an initial swipe at removing some of the more obvious spam and promo text. And added a couple of decent refs from the WSJ and Stern. Please continue to hack away at your convenience. CactusWriter (talk) 17:23, 27 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

The Logo of MCM was created by Mara Cromer in 1971 not by Michael Cromer. The original idea of the Logo were the first letters of Mara and Michael Cromer. Gerlinde Hettich (talk) 20:16, 5 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
