File:Kaveeriran.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:Kaveeriran.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Other speedy deletions
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Ambiguous Description

[edit]

The second sentence in the first paragraph of the Description section makes no sense. It sounds like it was copied from the caption of a picture. The problem is the picture is missing. It needs to be removed or corrected. Dr. Morbius (talk) 16:28, 17 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Confusion about highest land surface temperature claim

[edit]

Furnace Creek, California mentions

a ground temperature of 201 °F (94 °C) was recorded in Furnace Creek on July 15, 1972; this may be the highest natural ground surface temperature ever recorded

So is the following on this page correct?

The surface of its sand has been measured at temperatures as high as 70.7 °C (159.3 °F), the highest-known land surface temperature
