@MarioSoulTruthFan: Hi, may I ask if you fail this for now? Not sure why I even nominated this in the first place when it obviously needs a lot of work. It's been much pressure with the GA review being up that I haven't been able to do anything to the article because of my cough (which has been slightly getting better) and other stuff on Wikipedia (e.g. the backlog drive).
Obviously, I'm going to use your suggestions to significantly improve this article before I nominate it for GA again. Thanks for understanding. RedShellMomentum 00:43, 7 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
I'm willing to wait. Nevertheless, its your cal. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 16:29, 7 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I think it would be best if this was failed for now, work is done on the article, and then it's nominated again. RedShellMomentum 18:02, 7 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Infobox

[edit]
  • Needs alt

Lead

[edit]
  • It was released on June 29, 2007. → radio, digital download, streaming??
  • Musically, "LoveStoned" is an upbeat dance song, contrasting with the interlude of "I Think She Knows," which has a slower, quieter, guitar-driven sound → this also needs to be on the main article with the source there and not in the lead
  • Needs expansion (mentions of Critical reception, Commercial performance, Music video and Live performances). Maybe a second paragraph

Background and release

[edit]
  • Image also needs alt
  • Needs to mention both studios with sources
  • Should also mention radio edit with its length
  • He also appeared in the films Alpha Dog,[4] Black Snake Moan,[5] Richard Kelly's Southland Tales,[6] and voiced Prince Artie Pendragon in the animated film Shrek the Third, released on May 18, 2007.[7] → just say various other movies, including (give 3 examples), this is not connected to his inspiration
  • "as a sexual love song" → as a sexual love song. It was also produced by the former three + source

Composition

[edit]
  • The sample needs a relevant description so it is relevant to the section and article
  • "the sweaty, slap-bass funk vanishes, in favour of vigorously strummed, vaguely Sonic Youth-ish guitars, luscious strings and a gorgeous Kraftwerk-inspired counter-melody" → Needs paragraphing
  • "a space-age disco track in which he [Timberlake] rhapsodizes about a statuesque goddess who casts a lustfully narcotic spell, leaving him defenceless against her predatory wiles" → same as previous
  • "Justin sees a gorgeous girl on the floor and longs to bring her back to the VIP Room and/or just cut to the chase and take her directly home". → same as previous
  • "Billie Jean" → release year in between brackets
  • "Turenne concluded that the single is not just a song, "it's the start of an S&M porno script" → maybe move it next to her review

Critical reception

[edit]
  • Critical reception → Reception if we are including awards
  • First sentence "LoveStoned" has received generally positive reviews from music critics + link music critics to music journalism
  • Image is in the wrong section and needs alt
  • "Superior tracks, like 'LoveStoned' and 'What Comes Around', suggest a happy middle path, where Timberlake can equally embrace Timbaland's canny beats and his own vocal helium" → paraphrase
  • "descends precipitously into the gorgeous melancholy of 'I Think That She Knows', all MOR-rock guitar churn and weightless strings, the same chorus ... transformed from infatuation to the paranoid and elegiac admission of an addict" → same as previous
  • Rolling Stone believed that → name of the music critic, magazine don't have beliefs
  • The remixes need to be moved somewhere else, such as live performances and re-title that section

Commercial performance

[edit]
  • In North America, the single was officially solicited to radio in June 2007 → doesn't belong here
  • LoveStoned" appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 and debuted at number 85,[37] at number 17 on the Hot Digital Songs chart. → LoveStoned" entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number 85
  • Pop 100 → redirect wikilink
  • LoveStoned/I Think She Knows" → LoveStoned (billboard only credits the first name); plus two different charts need two different links, I don't want to be redirect to his Hot 100 page
  • It peaked at number 11, spent nineteen weeks on the chart... → It peaked at number 11, spending nineteen weeks on the chart...
  • The song attained top five positions in the Netherlands, South Africa, and Turkey → develop
  • top ten in Denmark, Finland, Italy, and Sweden → same as previous
  • Add the certifications here as well
  • This needs a major expansion

Music video

[edit]
  • Description needs source/sources (Youtube is valid here)
  • Total Request Live (TRL) premiered the video on June 18, and it debuted at number nine on June 19 → Total Request Live (TRL) premiered the video on June 18
  • The music video on YouTube has received over 95 million views as of January 2026 → As of January 2026, the music video on YouTube has received over 95 million views + merge it on the third paragraph

Live performances

[edit]
  • This section needs an expansion
  • He performed the song at the EMA's and at the VMA's. I'm sure there are some reviews or comments from music journalists about it
  • He performed the song on all his tours, any comments, analysis or critics about the performance of said song

Charts

[edit]

Certifications and sales

[edit]
  • Move the French sales to the commercial performance
  • Do the same for the US
  • Remove both sales from here
