Xinping County

[edit]

The Xinping County Gazetteer lists Lalu and Menghua as Yi subgroups. The Lalu speak a Lolopo dialect, while the Menghua speak a Lalo dialect. The article about the Lalo language says that in Xinping County the Lalu language is spoken in Malutang and Mowei Villages of Jianxing Township. It might be talking about Menghua. The article about the Lolopo language says the same thing. Operation China says that the Xinping Lalu are found in the southwest of the county, not only in Jianxing, and also in Zhenyuan, Yuanjiang and Mojiang Counties. What is the difference between the Lalo and Lolopo languages in Xinping County? 151.19.242.224 (talk) 09:07, 11 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
