Swap sections Anatomy and Function

I believe it is a good practice, in an article about an organ or body part, to have section "Anatomy" or "Structure" first, followed by section "Function". For this reason, I propose to swap sectons "Anatomy" and "Function" in this article. Ion Soggo (talk) 19:51, 25 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Oppose. The function explains the anatomy, not the reverse, so it makes sense in this order. It might help to realise that the 'Function' section is describing the goal or purpose of the organ, while the 'Signal transduction' and 'Electrophysiology' sections describe the mechanisms involved in using the anatomical structures, so the article does in fact place the anatomy before the functional mechanisms. If calling the first section 'Purpose' would make you more comfortable, we could consider that, but biologists generally use the f-word for this evolutionary concept.
