Kuru-Pancala war?

[edit]

@Varahmihira: regarding your recent addition diff and [[User:Chariotrider555]s revert:

  • no date for this alleged war? Surely not before the formation of the Kuru-kingdom;
  • Zac Varghese, Sangeeth Varghese (2023). "Hidden Links How Random Historical Events Shaped Our World". Penguin random house India private limited. ISBN 9789357081849, 9357081844. {{cite web}}: Check |isbn= value: invalid character (help)CS1 maint: periodical has ISBN (link) - no pagenumber; looks like a highly speculative source; not WP:RS;
  • Sangeeth Varghese, Zac Varghese (2 September 2023). "Two scholars say Mahabharata war wasn't between Pandavas & Kauravas but Panchala & Kurus". The Print. - about the same book;
  • Mahabharata: primary source, not WP:RS.

Regarding ypur message at User talk:Chariotrider555#Your recent revert on Kuru,

Hi, you reverted my edit by saying it is poorly sourced but it had 3 citations. Also whatever i mentioned was fact based on sources. Just google "Kuru-Panchala war" by yourself and check it once. Varahmihira (talk) 03:47, 25 May 2024 (UTC)

that's interesting; there was indeed a legend of a war between the Kuru's and the Panchala's, see here. But the Varghese-thesis, that this was the blueprint for the Mahabharata, doesn not seem to find much support. Nor can I find much info on this war; some publications from the late 19th century; that's n ot much. Joshua Jonathan - Let's talk! 03:58, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
