The intro to this article refers to "Bettyann" as an "underground classic." That phrase is quoted from Robert Silverberg's introduction to the story in his anthology Strange Gifts (where he also noted that the story was widely praised but that most people hadn't read it)--but that intro was written in 1975. The story has been reprinted a few times since then, in wider circulation than had apparently been true before Silverberg's introduction, so it seems weird to continue to refer to it by a phrase that Silverberg used over forty years ago. So I removed the word "underground." But I'm not entirely satisfied with the result of my change, because we're now effectively citing Silverberg's 1975 intro as saying that the story is a "classic." What I'd rather do is find a more contemporary source to quote, but I don't have time to do that right now. So for now, I made the quick fix of removing the word "underground," but further work on this would be a good idea. --Elysdir (talk) 18:20, 16 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
