Merge

[edit]

I would like to merge Key generator and Keygen with sufficient information to disambiguate the two uses of the term. Key generator needs more useful information, and Keygen is an article in great need of work. Comments or suggestions --BSD Daemon (talk) 05:48, 15 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I was going to propose combining this with another page about cryptography or public key encryption, but I think that what this page really needs is: more sources, more info and more links to the rest of Wikipedia. For instance, do we have links from the cryptographic systems that use key generators pointing back here? KonigProbst (talk) 17:40, 16 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Blather

[edit]

The section "Significance" contains meaningless blather. Probably copied from some very basic online tutorial to the idea of cryptographic keys.

If you can't merge this with keygen, maybe cross-link them? I was looking for "key generator" (don't ask why :-) and it turns out the definition I needed was "keygen"...

I had similar concerns about the section and marked it with {{tone}}, but after noticing this existing discussion, I went ahead and removed it in Special:Diff/1178477670. DefaultFree (talk) 22:41, 3 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
