Expanding?
[edit]I'm going to spend a bit of time looking around to see if we can find some good sources and add an infobox, a photo; and just generally de-stub-ify/expand this article. Letting other editors know and if I don't have time to do the actual drafting I will post any sources I dig up here. LegalTech (talk) 22:10, 16 July 2025 (UTC)
- @LegalTech: After I had made a couple of minor tweaks to the Stand-up Specials section's table, and did a deeper dive into other sections, trying to fix the January/April discrepancies for the Mark Your Territory debut, I noticed (and appreciated!) your many needed edits over the summer, from my perusal of the Revision History.
- Since the original May 2025 stub was an early (3rd) effort at article creation from a fledgling editor who struggled their first year with Newcomer Tasks, and is currently dealing with a Partial Block, your expansion efforts have helped greatly.
- Without my having to scroll through Revisions edit-by-edit, did you happen to notice a source for Kelsey's DOB (that was recently deleted per WP:BLP) or see at what point the tagged Not in Citation text vs. references went askew?
- Thanks again! — DennisDallas (talk) 02:00, 10 August 2025 (UTC)
- PS: I ping’d an editor from June (FireguyRJM) on his Talk page, to see what helpful sources he might recall/add, since he was the one who originally added the DOB & parental details to the article. — DennisDallas (talk) 06:35, 10 August 2025 (UTC)
- Huzzah! Thanks for the kind words and I’m glad the edits were broadly useful. I haven’t found a reliable source for her DOB (although there are a few unreliable ones, I don't think IMDB and other user-edited sites count), so I agree it should remain out until one turns up. I’ll keep an eye out, and perhaps an earlier editor can recall a more standard secondary source. As for the Not in Citation tags, it’s possible they arose during my edits, since I added sources and reworded some material while retaining many of the existing inline citations. As an FYI, I’ve also reached out to her general contact email to ask if she might be willing to provide a photo we can add to the page. LegalTech (talk) 17:05, 10 August 2025 (UTC)
- Great, especially on your reaching out for a photo that wouldn’t present copyright or permissible-use hurdles. (Her team at 800 Pound Gorilla Media, such as Lilly Owens –see article cites– might be another source for a publicity photo or headshot with CC-by-SA permissions for uploading. I'll do a quick search on the Commons, in case something already exists.)
- And I concur with editor G.G.Sång’s citing WP:DOB (rather than just BLP reasons) after your moving Kelsey's birthdate from where FireguyRJM placed it, since her privacy overrides any fan/editor's desire to add that trivia, especially with such details not apparent in her many interviews or hometown paper style articles.

- FYI Update: That 2018 Highsobiety.com "review" by Sydney Gore (now a dead link) of Netflix's The Comedy Lineup is now gone from the article: of the 16 comedians in the two-part series, Taylor Tomlinson was the only longhaired blonde in the show. And Kelsey's segment for This Is Not Happening was an online-bonus (unaired) feature, as mentioned in the show’s WP page, but WP:WINARS prevents using that as a citation. Several other of our sources corroborate that appearance, so we’re covered.

- It was from Kelsey's older YouTube videos playing a game where she first met and talked about their separate relationships at the time. Then later she made comments about her early life and their new her comedy specials she released. I'm not sure how to use a YouTube video with or her comedy specials as a source with timestamps. I'm not the best at doing code or edits; but I understand the importance of a direct quote from their own interviews and videos.
- Not sure how to respond to the suggestion user edited sites can't be trusted without additional references; when more than 50% of the sources used for Wikipedia are now dead links, do we just trust all of that user edited information is correct when it's no longer tied to any source?
- I don't have the energy to learn the coding or proper edits for video timestamps, you can help fix the information, or just delete everything, I'm stuck on the easy mode and more advanced Wikipedia users generally criticize those of us without the skills to make fancy edits that don't cause code errors, and make the assumption our raw data is false as well. FireguyRJM (talk) 08:51, 22 August 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply, Fireguy, and your efforts back in June to contribute to the article are appreciated, even when properly citing biographical data sources can be challenging.
- And making good citations from either YouTube or TV specials/interviews are a bit easier (for video timestamps) if you use fill-in-the-blank ("parameters" or params, in Wikispeak) Templates designed for videos & podcasts, like Template:Cite AV media or Template:Cite podcast, rather than the generic {{cite web}}. Just add either the "| minutes= " or "| time= " piped parameter with either a whole number for minutes —or digits in the MM:SS time format— for when the cited detail appears (hitting pause on the playback will usually pop up the digital timeline, for reference). And the useful "| quote= " param lets you type in direct quotes from either the subject or the interviewer/narrator, etc.

- Are you still working on expanding this page? I created it and would love to see more added! Gjb0zWxOb (talk) 18:25, 12 January 2026 (UTC)
