Request for article expansion
[edit]I am the subject of this article and therefore have a conflict of interest. I am not proposing to edit the article directly, but I would like to request that independent editors consider expanding it.
The current article is quite brief and omits several areas that have been central to my research career and professional leadership.
In particular, editors may wish to evaluate whether the following topics warrant coverage:
Congressional Testimony about rape in the PEace Corps and changes that need to be made: https://democrats-foreignaffairs.house.gov/2011/5/peace-corps-50 https://www.c-span.org/clip/house-committee/user-clip-karestan-koenen-testifies-before-congress-in-2011/5090955
Leadership of the Psychiatric Genomics Consortium (PGC) PTSD Working Group, one of the largest international collaborations studying the genetics of post-traumatic stress disorder.
Contributions to psychiatric genomics and large-scale studies of PTSD genetics. Research on the epidemiology of trauma, PTSD, and the long-term health consequences of traumatic exposure across the life course.
Leadership roles at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the Broad Institute, including work with the Broad Trauma Initiative. Service as President of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS).
Awards, honors, and other professional recognition beyond those currently listed.

In addition, there has been substantial coverage of PTSD genomics research associated with the PGC-PTSD collaboration, including: Nature Genetics (2024), reporting results from the largest PTSD genetic study to date, involving more than 1.2 million participants and identifying 95 genomic loci associated with PTSD risk. University of California news coverage of the international PTSD genetics consortium, which identifies Karestan Koenen as a co-chair of the collaboration. https://health.ucsd.edu/news/press-releases/2019-10-08-study-reveals-ptsd-has-strong-genetic-component/

I would appreciate review by independent editors regarding whether these topics and sources support expansion of the article consistent with Wikipedia policies on neutrality, sourcing, and biographies of living persons. Thank you. Kckoenen (talk) 19:56, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
