Famicom version

I would just like to point out that Karate Champ WAS released for the Famicom in cartridge format. I played it back in 1990. I remember it being a horrible and slow-paced game. very inaccurate article

everytime i comeback to this page it feels like i'm the only person to actually play this arcade game since people assumed there is winner speech said aloud and there is more errors Retro-ye (talk) 03:25, 14 November 2024 (UTC)

Developer

User:Go D. Usopp is adamant of declaring Data East the developer of the game without a single source. First, the user was complaining that there was was no developer identified on the article (there's no requirement for the article to have one) and about the presence of a Twitter source on the page. Now that the Twitter source is gone and that the developer has been identified as Technos as per four reliable sources on the article, Go D. Usopp still wants to make Data East the developer without any source and bypass what the current references are saying because he/she feels that Data East is the developer.

Unless there are sources that explicitly say that Data East was the actual developer, this shouldn't neither override Technos as the developer or no developer at all. ~2026-38398-77 (talk) 04:52, 3 August 2026 (UTC)

@~2026-38398-77 Technos' credit being a developer can be verified through primary sources such as Arc System Works' website , which also lists other games Technos developed under NDAs. Akagi's book is noted for some clerical errors which the three sources likely copied verbatim. Among the three, Museum of the Game and Hardcore Gaming 101 are respectively a user-generated source and is not reliable for developer credits, while Time Extension most likely used the Akagi source.

That being said, Data East's non-involvement in development is listed in your Twitter source, which isn't published in other reliable sources to be verifiable. Data East is listed in the press release at . There's no telling if the Twitter source can be determined to be accurate, as the developer joined Data East after the game's release; the cited source is literally speculation based on loose details.
