This book was highly recommended to me and when I eventually read it, did not disappoint. I have edited the article to reflect the subtitle of the work as it appears on my copy (a Laurel paperback of 1987), "A Political Ornithology..." This seems significant in part because Maslow claims in his introduction (with due modesty and self deprecation that I am not conveying well here) that he is pioneering a new genre. Turgenev might have disagreed, and maybe Maslow is making more of a joke than I realize. I did not take out the other subtitle because I don't feel like trying to track down other possible editions.
