  • : Review done.
General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.

Overall: Review completed: DYK nomination meets all requirements. Article created on 15 Sept 2025. Earwig copyvio tool shows all green (max 9%). Article size 674 prose words. Hook size 91 characters. Sources are fine; and article is neutral. The hook could perhaps be more catchy; for example, it could identify the convention. Noleander (talk) 17:17, 20 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Sure.
ALT0b: ... that after Jeremy Hambly was attacked outside Gen Con, Gen Con banned him?

Pulled per WP:ERRORS; a WP:BLP compliant hook needed.--Launchballer 06:50, 4 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Launchballer: Sorry about that. Maybe hook idea:
ALT1: ... that Jeremy Hambly has operated YouTube channels about claw machines, Magic: The Gathering, and politics?
Based5290 :3 (talk) 07:04, 4 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hey everyone: I'm also sorry I did not catch the BLP issue. I'm relatively new to DYK, and I was unaware of the WP:DYKBLP guideline. Noleander (talk) 01:02, 5 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Launchballer: The nomination is two months old; can you please take a look at this and see if ALT1 can be approved and run, or if this should be timed out? Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 06:16, 18 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
I've never heard of Magic: The Gathering and would question whether a broad audience would. The claim that Hambly founded TheQuartering is sourced to three sources in both the lead and body; two of these in each don't mention Hambly by name, and the one shared source is paywalled. (And cites WP:FANDOM, so in my mind can't be trusted.) I therefore approve the following hook only: ALT1a: ... that Jeremy Hambly has operated a YouTube channel about claw machines?--Launchballer 06:34, 18 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm surprised you haven't heard about MTG before as it is the world's most popular trading card game and so a reasonably broad audience has probably at least heard about it, but I get where you're coming from.
Per the above, I am striking all hooks except for ALT1a and giving this a tick. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 07:43, 18 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
