Full Name

[edit]

Jean Nicolas Joseph Absil ? according to de and nl Wikipedia (and this source also). VIAF accepts "Absil, Jean Nicolas Joseph" as an input though LCCN doesn't give this full name in their entry and neither does BNF's authority-name listing. Don't know what the ultimate source is, if any. Schissel | Sound the Note! 02:35, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Edit request: first performance of the Guitar Concerto, Op. 155

[edit]

I have a declared conflict of interest (I am the performer mentioned below), so I am proposing this addition rather than making it myself.

Proposed addition (for example, at the end of the paragraph beginning "Non-piano music of Absil's includes..."):

Absil's Guitar Concerto, Op. 155 (1971), was not performed during his lifetime; it received its first performance on 15 June 2025 in Waregem, Belgium, by guitarist Sam Desmet with the orchestra Casco Phil, conducted by Benjamin Haemhouts.[1]

Reason: The concerto is already listed among Absil's works in the article; its belated premiere is documented by an independent Dutch-language review. I am happy to adjust the wording or placement. Samdesmet (talk) 00:58, 24 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
