Update the photos of campus

Surely there's someone who can take some? What's on this page is quite old. The ones of the quad are blurry and do not reflect any of the changes over the past years. If I were still in the area I'd take some myself. 174.60.107.8 (talk) 22:34, 9 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Research section only including one discovery

[edit]

@FrerSquirrel: Why have you begun an edit war to add a new "Research" section that only includes one discovery made at the university? Why is that one discovery so significant that it merits inclusion in this encyclopedia article about the entire history, organization, and resources of the university? And why aren't other discoveries also included? ElKevbo (talk) 01:24, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Yes, it is only one item; but one has to start somewhere. I expect others to add more; I might do so as I have time. Furthermore, the discovery of PSM is highly significant to all STEM fields that use mathematical models, which is almost all of them. Thirdly, PSM is rarely if ever taught, largely through academic inertia. As far as I know, only Davidson might do so, in addition to JMU. I would be happy to be corrected. Thank you for your concern and patience. FrerSquirrel (talk) 16:19, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
And why do you get to impose your preferred version of the article over the objections of another editor? This project operates on collaboration and consensus - you do not get to dictate the contents of this article and in the case of a dispute the original, stable version should be maintained. Please revert your edit until we can come to an agreement. ElKevbo (talk) 21:56, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, ElKevbo, for your links regarding edit wars and ownership behavior. My edit adds a little to existing content rather than changing existing content. When you deleted my first edit, I sought similar examples at other webpages to see how to better conform my edit, and tried again. I am certainly willing to improve my edit. Please be more specific on how I might do so, rather than simply reverting an edit. Please also consider your own actions in context of Wikipedia's Examples of Ownership Behavior. It's simply not ready for publication in an encyclopedia. Work on it in a sandbox and add other representative examples so it's not just a random fact that one Wikipedia editor happened to know but a cohesive part of a comprehensive encyclopedia article. ElKevbo (talk) 23:37, 27 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
