[edit]

This article has been given a much-needed facelift. However, there are still statements which remain unreferenced. RGBLight (talk) 23:55, 24 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Edit request

[edit]

Request removing the first sentence in the following passage as neither provided source supports it. The "she" in the subsequent sentence should be changed to "Allan" accordingly.

"Allan has been a strong supporter of increasing housing supply. In 2024, she announced a proposal to overhaul planning rules to allow taller buildings and increased housing density near train and tram stations in Melbourne." 147.161.212.193 (talk) 05:54, 1 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Not done: It seems clear from the cited sources that Allan is a proponent of building additional housing. Day Creature (talk) 05:29, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Content about Allan's husband

[edit]

Earlier today an editor added content about a recent drink driving conviction of Jacinta Allan's husband. I reverted this on the basis that it's not about Jacinta Allan. User:LivelyRatification re-added it with an edit summary saying "I believe this is relevant to the article and not undue". I cannot see how, unless the intention is to negatively tar Allan with the sins of her husband. HiLo48 (talk) 09:16, 4 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

I reverted this on the assumption that information about a subject's non-notable relative (spouse, child, parent), could be included in the article if not given undue weight. I'm less certain about this after some policy reading, given WP:NOTPUBLICFIGURE, but I certainly don't think that its inclusion reflects negatively on Allan. An article written about Jane, for example, might include that her father Bob had a drinking problem in her youth, or that her daughter Paula king-hit someone. Don't give it undue weight, violate the person's right to privacy, but if someone who knows about Jane's husband is likely to know an unsavoury fact about him, I think it's worth including. The fact that it made the national news is relevant. Doug butler (talk) 01:18, 11 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
