COI edit request: proposed rewrite of the article
[edit]| This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. Set |answered=no to reactivate the request if necessary. |
I have a conflict of interest: I am employed by Interpeace and have declared paid editing on my user page. I am not editing the article directly.
I would like to propose an updated version of the article, in my sandbox at User:Alejandro Sakiribal Morales Ruiz/sandbox. The current text does not reflect the organization's present leadership, strategic framework, or areas of work.
Summary of the proposed changes:
- Updates the leadership section (Itonde Kakoma became President and CEO in
2023).
- Corrects the account of the 2018 Swiss agreement, which confers privileges
and immunities rather than recognition as an international organization, and cites the Federal Council press release.
- Adds the programmatic focus areas set out in the Strategic Framework
2026-2030.
- Adds sections on funding, offices and selected country programmes.
- Retains the existing sourced material on the history of the organization
and on the Principles for Peace initiative.
The proposal carries 27 sources, six of them independent of Interpeace, including a Swiss Federal Council press release, a WTO news item, a statement by the Permanent Mission of Finland to the United Nations and a peer-reviewed article in Development in Practice. Where a statement rests on Interpeace's own publications I have relied on WP:ABOUTSELF, and I am happy for reviewing editors to trim or tag anything they consider insufficiently sourced or promotional.
Thank you for reviewing. Alejandro Sakiribal Morales Ruiz (talk) 15:46, 7 September 2026 (UTC)
- Withdrawing this request. Given the size of the backlog I am replacing it
- with a series of smaller, self-contained requests that should be quicker to
- review. The full proposed text remains in my sandbox for reference. Alejandro Sakiribal Morales Ruiz (talk) 01:43, 2 October 2026 (UTC)
COI edit request: correct and source the statement on Swiss status

Please be extremely patient. There are currently 894 requests waiting for review. Please read the instructions for the parameters used by this template for accepting and declining them, and review the request below and make the edit if it is well sourced, neutral, and follows other Wikipedia guidelines and policies. Remember to set the |answered= parameter to "yes" when the request has been accepted, rejected or on hold awaiting user input. |
I have a conflict of interest (employed by Interpeace; paid editing declared on my user page) and am not editing the article directly.
The article currently states, without a source:
- In 2017, Interpeace was granted 'international organisation' status by Switzerland's Federal Council of Ministers.
The Swiss Federal Council's own press release records something different: on 15 January 2018, acting under the Host State Act, it concluded an agreement conferring privileges and immunities on Interpeace. That is not a grant of "international organisation" status, and the year is wrong.
Please replace that sentence with:
- On 15 January 2018, the Swiss Federal Council concluded an agreement conferring privileges and immunities on Interpeace in Switzerland, granted on the basis of the Host State Act.<ref>{{Cite press release |title=Federal Council concludes privileges and immunities agreement with Interpeace |publisher=Swiss Federal Council |date=15 January 2018 |url=https://www.admin.ch/en/nsb?id=69486 |access-date=2 October 2026}}</ref>
Thank you. Alejandro Sakiribal Morales Ruiz (talk) 01:49, 2 October 2026 (UTC)
