Can anybody confirm that a sample IBAN for Pakistan "PK00 BANK 0000 1234 5678 9000" is invalid?

I can confirm that "PK00 BANK 0000 1234 5678 9000" is indeed incorrect. "PK36 SCBL 0000 0011 2345 6702" should be a valid example. Corniel (talk) 08:23, 25 March 2026 (UTC)

wrong France calculation: Each of them is then multiplied by the proper multiplier (87, 15, 3) respectively. World Map (Portugal)

The data from swift IBAN registry (same link as above: International Bank Account Number (IBAN) | Swift) lists official published specifications for Djibouti, Burundi, and Nicaragua. Check digits: why base 10?

Why is the check digit calculation done in base 10 rather than base 36 for example? Because the check is done in base 10, a transposition between 1B and B1, M2 and 2M or 3X and X3 won't be caught, right? ~2026-24951-46 (talk) 09:29, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
