Venice 1848

Can some please check if those Austrin balloones really were hot air ballons? The German wikipedia writes of hydrogene filled ballons, and I tend to belive that for practical reasons. First: No sailor likes open fire on deck of his ship, especially with tar treated rigging and all photos of SMS Vulcano show a rigging. Second: If those ballons cary load, a constant heating is required, making holding a rather constant altidue not that easy.
