Critical Pressure Value

[edit]

The article currently lists 1.28 MPa (12.8 bar) as the critical pressure of H2, but seems not to give a source. Smith, Van Ness, Abbot "Introduction to Chemical Engineering Thermydynamics" lists it as 13.13 bar, and it seems like NIST also lists 13.13 bar. I am going to change it to 1.313 MPa, but currently I don't understand why it was ever 1.28. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2026-52932-90 (talk) 22:23, 2 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

1671 is not in the 18th century

[edit]

The history section begins with a subsection of the 18th century. Notably, the 1600s are not the 18th century (they are the 17th). Acephotino (talk) 17:19, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Done Thank you for spotting this, I have moved it to a new 17th century subsection. Polyamorph (talk) 17:33, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Applications: Hydrogenation: syngas contents error

[edit]

Methanol is produced using "syngas" which is mixture of hydrogen and carbon MONoxide, which is explained in article referred to, while the paragraph states carbon DIoxide which is not a substrate in this reaction and it is not principal part of the mixture, rather a contamination Nieobecny (talk) 21:03, 31 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thanks fixed, added a source Johnjbarton (talk) 04:23, 1 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Is a application of deuterium an application of hydrogen?

[edit]

I say, No, we should move that content to Deuterium. Johnjbarton (talk) 03:52, 15 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

I agree. Or perhaps I'd say "pedantically yes and encyclopedically no". We have a separate article for the heavy isotope and it behaves differently enough from the light isotope to shunt such applications to the main article. Double sharp (talk) 18:32, 15 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
I assume you mean to shunt deuterium applications to the Deuterium article? Johnjbarton (talk) 02:36, 16 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yes. Double sharp (talk) 03:18, 16 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
