Homo Sovieticus was not aggressive?

...surprisingly, over the next 20 years Homo sovieticus (an artificial construct of doublethink, paternalism, suspicion and isolationism) had mutated and reproduced, acquiring, along the way, new characteristics such as cynicism and aggression.

Homo Sovieticus was not aggressive before 1991? What are the residents of the Baltic States to think of this? Or of Chechnya? Or for that matter the residents of Budapest in 1956? This suggestion of Homo Sovieticus being meek, tame and apparently wholly benign before 1991 is rather subjective or only partially accurate, and probably does not belong in an encylopaedia.

How about: " ...surprisingly, over the next 20 years Homo sovieticus (an artificial construct of doublethink, paternalism, suspicion and isolationism) had mutated and reproduced, acquiring, along the way, new characteristics such as cynicism, and also becoming more aggressive."

The text appears to be a result of chaotic additions by several people who write, not read. This resulted in repetitions and loss of cosistency in logical flow. Most prominent is listing of the traits in two different places, not counting the lede. --Altenmann >talk 13:31, 12 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
