I am not sure why the US Olympic Basketball Team is described in this way. The US had sent such teams in previous Olympics, and every time their team had been undefeated. In no prior instance has the US Olympic Basketball Team been referred to as a team of American Students, in any other context. (If this use is widespread and I am simply not aware, please show me a reference to correct what I will gladly acknowledge as a misconception.) I am not sure why this designation must be introduced specifically for this article. (Are we now to refer to almost any Western Olympic team, prior to the era when the ban on professional athletes was lifted as a team of students, given that this was very often the case?)
