Page name is the wrong way round

[edit]

This page is named "First Corridor". This is incorrect, although the coaching stock codes were written with the class first and type second, the universal railway usage for compartment stock was (and still is) to specify the type first, then the class.

So an FK is a "Corridor First", a BFK is a "Corridor Brake First", etc. This contrasts with open stock where the code matches the standard description, TSO being "Tourist Standard Open". Though note that a BFO would be a "Brake Open First" and not a "Brake First Open". This can be confirmed with reference to the reference books on the subject, e.g. Keith Parkin's "British Railways Mark 1 Coaches", the definitive work on the subject of Mk1s, and with the rolling stock spotters' books of the period which all used the "Corridor First" terminology, echoing internal railway staff usage.

Not sure how to change the page name though, can anyone oblige? The same error is present in all the corridor coach type pages. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.136.121.65 (talk) 17:47, 8 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
