Request rename title from "filter dryer" to "filter drier"

Filter dryer → Filter drier – The article's name should be renamed from "filter dryer" to "filter "drier", since websites use the term "filter drier". - Oppose "Drier" is an adjective that means "more dry". It would be incorrect grammar to use in an article about a device. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 07:47, 27 November 2025 (UTC)

- Support. Filter drier is apparently more common in ngrams: . Drier and dryer are both able to be nouns. See e.g. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/drier. Adumbrativus (talk) 02:31, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- Interestingly, dryer is more common overall. Considering that many occurrence of drier will be the comparative form, the difference for the sense we are concerned with will be even greater. - Leaning opposed. After checking a few dictionaries, dryer seems to be the preferred spelling for a device. Merriam-Webster, Cambridge, Collins, Oxford, and Wiktionary all say the device is usually dryer. Collins identifies drier as an American variant. There could be false indications in the NGram data, such as for the question "Is this
filter drier
than that one?" or the sentence "They added a heating element to make thefilter drier
while operating," in which filter drier is not a noun phrase. At any rate, there is no clear problem here that needs to be fixed. — BarrelProof (talk) 14:38, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
