A recurring source of edit conflicts on this is the correct translation of the word shetun. I did not speak Farsi, so I cannot claim to be an savant on this subject, but --Abbas Milani in his 2011 book The Shah translates the word shetun as meaning a "piece of shit". A vulgar term, but that is how he translates it. Given that Mr. Milani was born in Iran in 1949 (through he now has U.S. citizenship) and grew up in that country, I can only presume that his first language is Farsi. Anything I read about him supports that conclusion that his first language is Farsi and his second language is English. And if that is the case, and it appears to be, it sounds reasonable to assume that he is competent to translate something from Farsi into English. Other users keep changing the translation of the word shetun as meaning "trouble-maker" or "devilish", which may be correct translations as I don't know Farsi, but Milani uses the more vulgar term. If I understand the rules correctly, we are supposed to follow what the sources say and that is what the source does indeed say. Unless somebody can find a RS saying that Milani is in error, I think we should follow the source.--A.S. Brown (talk) 04:58, 9 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
