Black Hills en route to Independence Rock
[edit]It doesn’t make sense that Elam Brown journeyed through the Black Hills from St. Jo to Independence Rock. He would’ve had to have gone far north off the Oregon Trail (which he was likely on). It might be that he went through the Sand Hills (Nebraska) that would be on the route, or that somebody missrepresented badlands around Scottsbluff as Black Hills (as actual Black Hills are in vicinity of SoDak Badlands…?
