DYK help

Ko @Hteiktinhein, I want to promote my first DYK and I know you've done a lot with DYKFICTION for mythology. I'm not really sure what the guidelines would be on what is considered acceptable. I think to a general audience, the legend about Duttabaung using a htamein face-cloth and losing his powers would be most interesting but I'm not sure if that would be disqualified as a plot point. Let me find a better hook for Duttabaung. Right now, I am very depressed about the DYK issue. I have successfully promoted several deity-related articles before without any problems, but after promoting Princess Thonbanhla, suddenly many editors started judging South Asian deities as low-quality due to lack of scholarly interpretation. That feels very disrespectful to our tradition.

The official history of Nats is compiled from multiple scholarly accounts and published in books by historians. It is not random folklore. Now I feel afraid to promote deity or semi-legendary figures for DYK because it seems the policy changes depending on the reviewer’s personal opinion. This makes it feel like my understanding and knowledge of DYK are being dismissed.

Many historical figures from more than 1000/2000 years ago are mixed with legend and chronicle material is normal. however Duttabaung is indeed presented as a historical king, although surrounded by legend. I have already promoted this type of DYK before, such as Template:Did you know nominations/Ngataba Min, by clearly stating “according to legend,” and there was no issue at that time.
