Douglas Says has a vibrant and emerging archival collection at the Fashion Institute for Technology and was a central part of Rutgers University Queer Newark Oral History Project. If these two scholarly sources are not substantial enough to provide evidence of "notoriety" or "news worthiness" he has also been featured in an exhibition at the Newark Museum and in the now-award winning short film "Miss Honey: The Story Behind A Cat Suit" by director Brandon Nicholas. Beyond these institutional honors, Douglas Says is a revered designer in the ballroom community which is substantiated in how commonplace his fashion and design work shows up in various photographs of the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s ballroom scene.
