The wrong Din Mohammad
[edit]Death entries made in this article recently are incorrect. There were two wrestlers from Pakistan known as Din Mohammad - the one who died was "over 100 years old", not 88. I have no intention of going through the whole article removing dates of death and details, sources and past tensing of descriptors, but I do urge anyone interested in this article to put right the wrongs. The deceased has been misidentified as the subject of this article. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 20:53, 4 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Refsworldlee: I was considering working on this so I want to make sure I've got everything right: so the wrestler who died was not this Olympian? Was he this Olympian, since The Nation describes him as a 1960 Olympian? In that case, should I remove the Asian Games details and start a new article on Din Mohammad (wrestler)? - I think I'll remove the Asian Games etc. details and create a new article on the person who died. BeanieFan11 (talk) 18:44, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
- He was the latter, older Olympian. That really is so clear to see from all the information available on the internet, and from a comparison of the photos of both in certain sources, reliable and not so reliable. Good luck with any articles on the older Olympian, as I can see no other notability putting itself out there other than his Olympic participation. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 20:37, 8 July 2025 (UTC)

– @Refsworldlee: If the one who died was Ashraf-Din (older Olympian), then he looks pretty notable for the coverage of his death and being the first Asian Games medalist in Pakistani history, no? BeanieFan11 (talk) 21:02, 8 July 2025 (UTC)- Whatever the merits of the old Din, this Din's article is still a confused mess and still claims this younger Din was the one who died. No further comment really. Ref (chew)(do) 21:04, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Refsworldlee: Created a new article on Din Mohammad (wrestler) and cleaned up this one. BeanieFan11 (talk) 22:39, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
