[edit]A considerable culture of formal mechanisms existed in early Renaissance Italy, from the Boca della Verita in Rome to the Boca dei Leone in Venice and similar tambura in Florence. These should also be added, and the mechanisms by which such anonymous denunciations were investigated added.
