Robert E. Burton's 1970 book, Democrats of Oregon: The Pattern of Minority Politics, 1900 to 1956, would be a valuable resource for this article's history section. Adding "Liberalism" to ideology description

The Democratic Party of Oregon is a liberal party, so I propose adding "Liberalism" to the ideology section in the infobox. Here are some sources:
1. BBC summary identifying the US Democratic Party as "liberal": "Who are the main US political parties?".
2. AP describing Oregon under Democratic leadership as "liberal": "A GOP gov in liberal Oregon? Dems sound alarm on 'spoiler'".
3. Another source describing Oregon under Democrats as "liberalism": "Oregon leans blue, but how blue is it really?".
4. Here's the Guardian describing Portland as a "liberal" city that's deeply "entrenched" with the Democratic Party: "How Portland's liberal utopia became the center of a rightwing war in the US".
5. Here's Gallup describing the US Democrats as "trending towards liberalism": "Understanding Shifts in Democratic Party Ideology".
6. Here's London School of Economics referencing "liberal Democratic rule" in analyzing the Greater Idaho Movement: "Economic grievances are driving support for redrawing state borders in the Pacific Northwest".
I think it is well referenced enough to describe the Democratic Party of Oregon and by its association with the national Democratic Party as "Liberal". "Progressive" is also a term I've seen but that can be a separate discussion - Bokmanrocks01 (talk) 07:58, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

Update I found a source directly attributing the Oregon Democrats as "unabashedly liberal": "PSU Building Namesake Sen. Richard Neuberger Flipped Oregon for the Democrats". Whilst several of the 6 original sources you provided don't surpass the WP:OR threshold for directly supporting the label (i.e. a source describing the federal party doesn't transfer to describing a technically-different entity), this last source definitely fits.
