Deletion of this page
[edit]I find that the main information contained in this page is that of a criminal offense. The professional information about Daniel Deocampo is short, undeveloped and can be easily found in other webpages. The Personal Life of Daniel Deocampo is much wider and positive than what is reported here so that his character is grossly misrepresented. The text about the criminal offense has been literally copied from an FBI report that can be found in the web, which is, I believe, contrary to the policy of Wikipedia. In summary, this Wikipedia page appears to be simply an accusing finger pointing to an individual. The information provided is not useful and is biased. I see no reason to maintain this page in the public domain and suggest that it is deleted by the author. 212.139.41.34 (talk) 15:19, 19 September 2022 (UTC)

Hello - I am Daniel Deocampo, the subject of this article. I am respectfully requesting the addition of information about my scientific research, and wish to follow Wikipedia policies related to conflict of interest. Therefore I will not make any change myself, but instead request this change.
The article identifies me as a geologist, but currently provides little information about my scientific research. I request addition of a short paragraph describing my work in the area of understanding the Earth's past climate, in particular in East Africa related to human evolution.
I suggest adding a paragraph to the Career section after the section describing my Georgia State Univ career.
I respectfully draft the following paragraph for your consideration:
Deocampo's work focuses on aqueous and carbonate geochemistry, lacustrine sedimentology, and paleoclimatology to reconstruct environmental contexts for human evolution. A key focus of his work is the geochemical and mineralogical analysis of authigenic clays and silicates in East African rift basins, including Olduvai Gorge, Lake Magadi, and the Chew Bahir and Turkana Basins. He has used clay chemistry, oxygen isotopes, trace metals, and other approaches to investigate how orbital cycles and hydrological dynamics influenced fluctuations in paleosalinity, lake levels, and environmental variability. As a contributor to high-resolution core drilling projects (such as the Hominin Sites and Paleolakes Drilling Project and the Chew Bahir Drilling Project), his work relates orbitally influenced paleoclimate shifts to changing ecological landscapes at an important time of human evolution.
The following sources support the above proposed change:

I would appreciate review by an uninvolved editor of the above proposed addition, and I understand wording may need to be changed to comply with Wikipedia style or other standards.
