Hi, I'm doing a full rework of this article. It has several maintenance tags going back to April 2024 (lead too short, citations needed, massive parts unreferenced), and most of the sourcing leaned on UPSC coaching sites and one news article rather than the standard scholarly literature.

Here's what the rewrite plan, i've already made the draft and will be submitting it shortly:

Lead expanded from one short paragraph to a four-paragraph summary covering the methodology of dhasla, scope, etc
New Etymology, Background, Implementation, Methodology, Geographic scope, Primary sources, Impact, Historiography, and Legacy sections.
The previous "Appointed officers" section (Faujdar, Amal Guzar, Bitikshi, Khazandar, Shiqqdar, Fotedar, Qanungo, Muqaddam, Patwari, Chaudhari) has been removed because it duplicates content already in Zabt and is more about Mughal field administration than the dahsala assessment specifically.
The Ghalla Bakshi and Nasaq sections are folded into a much shorter mention under "Geographic scope" as alternative systems used outside the zabt zone, which is how Habib and Richards treat them.
Sources moved to Habib (The Agrarian System of Mughal India 1556–1707, OUP 3rd edn 2014), Moosvi (The Economy of the Mughal Empire c. 1595), Richards (The Mughal Empire, New Cambridge History of India), Streusand (Islamic Gunpowder Empires), Hasan (State and Locality in Mughal India), Moreland (1929) for historiographical context, plus the Blochmann/Jarrett translations of the Ain-i-Akbari as primary source.

Will also include images in sections where lacking
