I have yet to do further research, but based on what's written here this is not even a subspecies but a local population that went extinct. Perhaps it would make more sense for this information to live as a subsection on the species' page. Anyone have any thoughts on this, or is there precedent elsewhere for former subspecies to have their own pages? Habitualproblem (talk) 00:37, 4 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

This is a recognized subspecies. Not sure how the article got in the state it was in, but I've added several citations verifying that it is a universally accepted subspecies of white-throated dipper. DuckWrangler97 (talk) 21:22, 16 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
