Other notable and relevant philosophy.

[edit]

The author (and founder of the Bahá'í Faith) Bahá'ú'lláh wrote on numerous occasions of ideas similar to cosmopolitanism e.g. the Oneness of Humanity which is not particularly dissimilar from cosmopolitanism, and could be a relevant point for the history of Cosmopolitanism. Considering similarity, it could make sense to have a paragraph and/or section about that. Samuelhautamaki (talk) 21:03, 23 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Cosmopolitanism → Philosophy of Globalization – Why open literature support new title. Kourus senghor (talk) 14:20, 3 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose unless a real rationale is given (and probably even then). In case the link takes 5 minutes to open for anyone else, it is to a single edited volume, Philosophy of Globalization, published by De Gruyter in 2018. Most of the hits for "cosmopolitanism" in the book are for the chapter "Hospitality, Coercion and Peace in Kant". In other chapters we get sentences like "A politics of translation and a cosmopolitanism of difference could make the globalization process a space for negotiation and co-operation oriented towards the construction of a less unjust world" (p. 134). I don't see anything in this source that indicates the term "cosmopolitanism" is itself in any way inappropriate as an article title, and it's unclear why we would follow this source if it did.
