rename?

[edit]

We should rename this article, because there is a convert command also on Linux and probably other unix-like operating systems, that is used for converting image formats.--Bk1 168 (talk) 17:07, 30 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

No need to create a separate article for each OS. A separate section within the article will do. Guffydrawers (talk) 06:00, 17 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
Convert on Linux is a fundamentally different beast, though. It's used for various operations on images, while Windows' convert operates on file systems. I've added a Hatnote pointing to ImageMagick. --Draemmli (talk) 15:13, 7 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Notability?

[edit]

Is the subject notable enough for its own article in Wikipedia?

'Convert' is a generic verb that is a command/function in many Operating Systems, programming languages, Database Management Languages, application macro languages etc.

I suggest that such commands be placed into single articles about all the commands of the language/OS etc. in question. That is, if such info qualifies for WP at all. Guffydrawers (talk) 06:00, 17 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
