Definition
[edit]Is the Hudson Bay a sea? How about Gulf of St. Lawrence and Gulf of Mexico? Why not Gulf of California? We don't often consider that there's a continental divide between the Colorado River Basin (i.e. drsining into the Gulf of California) and Pacific Ocean basin. A large part of the western Colorado basin boundary is the Great Basin Divide, so the remaining portion of the divide between the river basin and ocean basin in Idaho, is very short. Is it one nonetheless? Headwaters Hill in Saguache County, Colorado near Chester: (Arkansas River, Rio Grande River, Colorado River) is often listed as a triple divide point, though both the Rio Grande and Arkansas Rivers drain to the Gulf of Mexico.
