There is no "national champions" section in the NCAA record book
[edit]The first sentence of the "National Champions" section currently reads:
As an NCAA-designated major selector, the NCAA regards the following teams as Colley's national champion selection, however these selections are listed under the "Final National Poll Leaders" section of the NCAA's record book rather than the "National Champions" section.
The citation used for this sentence is the 2022 FBS record book. However, that record book doesn't have a "National Champions" section; the closest it gets is a subsection under the National Poll Ratings section of the record book for "Consensus National Champions", but that clearly doesn't have anything to do with any individual selector's choice.
