Thomas Stanley

[edit]

I have removed this "The author Thomas Stanley was born in Clothall in 1625 and is buried in the church.[1]" because he was born in Cumberlow, which may have been in the parish of Rushden or Clothall, but certainly not in the village, and he was buried at St Martin-in-the-Fields. Now reinstated but with better sources - although Cumberlow Green today is mostly in Rushden parish, the former manor house of Cumberlow was unambiguously in Clothall parish. This article is also about both the village and parish. Stortford (talk) 07:49, 5 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
