Well, his name was actually Clem Burke, and he only played with the Ramones under the name Elvis Ramone for two gigs. He's known much more for playing with Blondie, under his birth name. Also, the title of the article is Clem Burke. --SchnappM 20:25, 5 March 2006 (UTC). that is true. did they ever do any live recordings with Elvis ramone? Is it allright to keep in the article the Elvis Ramone link that redirects to the same page?

Talent? Competent? Uh? Johnny Ramone said many times (in the movie End of the Century, in the book Commando, etc. etc. etc. etc.) that Burke was summarily fired because he was incompetent. If Tommy made the grade and Clem didn't, that says a lot. elpincha (talk) 17:37, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

He obviously isn't incompetent, so the question is why Johnny said that. The most obvious explanation is that he played Ramones songs with his own drumming instead of the particular Mark Bell style that Johnny insisted on. When he couldn't get Clem to do exactly what he wanted, he fired him, calling him "incompetent". It would be like having Steward Copleand be the drummer for AC/DC, where you're just supposed to play the beat straight most of the time and not throw in little fills all the time. By the way, Johnny only knew how to play the Ramones type of songs, and nothing more, so who was he to call people incompetent? Chrisrus (talk) 01:12, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
