I should like to correct the statement that "Neglect and natural elements have left the castle in an advanced state of decay. It was primarily local people who, over the years, took building materials from the site for their own use."

As I heard from locals, the castle was pretty much intact until the sixties, when it was broken down to construct the neighbouring hospital, against the protest of some locals.

There exists a photograph from 1934, which shows the castle fully intact. Bruguma (talk) 08:56, 10 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
