Cemre's Etymology - An Attempt

[edit]

Akkadian word "gumāru" is the Urform of the Turkish word cemre (gumāru is the origin of the Arabian word for embers). This is very similar to Turkish word "kömür" meaning simply "coal". Kömür has the root kö-n: to burn/kö-m-:to bury (Both are possible). Akkadian "gumāru" and Turkish "kömür" are very similar words.

I drop 2 links of Linguist Nisanyan

He asks himself, too, how it should be possible, a relation between these 2 langs. --UzunbacakAdem (talk) 15:57, 20 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
