"Cleanup rewrite" tag from November 2021

[edit]

I've noticed the {{cleanup rewrite}} tag at the top of the article, which dates back to November 2021. The reason given is that the article allegedly relies on sources considered to be hoaxes, such as Aginid, Bayok sa Atong Tawarik.

I have left a message for the editor who originally placed the tag, asking for them to either elaborate on the certain, specific issues here on the talk page or take action to fix the article.

In the meantime, I'm opening a discussion here. Could other contributors familiar with Cebuano history please weigh in on which parts of the article are affected by these sources? Any help in identifying the problematic text would be a great first step toward either rewriting the sections or determining if the tag is still necessary.

Since another year has passed without anyone being able to understand the concern expressed in the tag, I'm moving the contents here instead:
Checking "Aginid," for example, I only see one citation that refers to it, and it's clearly noted around the text and citation that this comes from a suspect source. So I think we need more details on the concern. I don't know that I'm convinced an article-wide tag is required here. MiscMichelle4 (talk)

I read the source in this article: A Chinese Gazetteer of Foreign Lands

This Xilonggong is in Borneo, very far from Cebu. It said, "countries of Xilonggong", possibly saying that it is a village in the country in Borneo. AlienGuy456789 (talk) 02:49, 5 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
