COI disclosure: My name is Skip Mark, a director of the CIRIGHTS Data Project, which is the successor to CIRI and is discussed in the final paragraph of this article. I am therefore not editing the article directly. I am requesting this change because the current paragraph is out of date, carries a {{when}} maintenance tag, and links to a page that is no longer where the data is distributed.

Current text (final paragraph):

The CIRI Human Rights Data Project has not produced scores since 2011. The CIRIGHTS

Data Project co-directed by David Cingranelli, Mikhail Filippov and Skip Mark has

produced new annual scores using the CIRI coding methodology. The new scores

are available from the Binghamton University Human Rights Institute website at

www.binghamton.edu/institutes/hri/researcher-resources.html.

Proposed replacement:

The CIRI Human Rights Data Project has not produced scores since the 2011 country-year.

Its work has been continued by the CIRIGHTS Data Project, which uses the CIRI coding

methodology and was launched in December 2022. CIRIGHTS is directed by Skip Mark

(University of Rhode Island), David Cingranelli and Mikhail Filippov (Binghamton

University), with CIRI co-founder David L. Richards later rejoining the project.

CIRIGHTS expands on CIRI by covering all countries, including small-population states

omitted from the CIRI data, and by increasing the number of measured rights from 15 to

more than 70, including labor rights, the right to a fair trial, human trafficking, and

human rights NGO freedom. The dataset and documentation are available at cirights.com.
