I'm a little confused about what languages this Bruce Codex was actually written in. MacDermot does indeed describe it as containing Coptic, Arabic, and Ethiopic manuscripts (Introduction, p. ix), but her full description of its contents – "two manuscripts and some fragments" (p. xi) with the fragments treated as part of the first MS – leaves no room for anything but Coptic material. The Bodleian catalogue also classifies it only as "Coptic." The Bruce collection seems to include other independent manuscripts in Ethiopic and Arabic. Perhaps this is what she was meant to write? Unless someone has another theory, I think I'll remove the mentions of Arabic and Ethiopic in the article. Lusanaherandraton (talk) 04:13, 27 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
